Letting go….and letting God

Recently I was told that if I wanted contact with some people that I love like my own babies, I would have to keep my “religious beliefs” to myself.

There was a time when our family didn’t really talk a whole lot about God, His Word and our faith….but that changed once we truly were born again and now we share it no matter what!! So we read the Bible, discussed it, answered their questions and prayed with these people just like we do with anyone and because of that we are threatened with not seeing them unless we keep our “religious beliefs” to ourselves thus compromising on God’s Word.

Our words were twisted and God’s Word was offensive to a claimed believer and we have been faced with the decision to either stand on God’s Word or keep these people in our lives…..

“Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out you name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice you in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers to the prophets.”

Luke 6:22-23

Sometimes we like to think that if we just keep holding on we can save someone. We think that we can do it better than God.  We think…”if I don’t share the truth with them then who will?”

We have prayed about it and wished with everything in us that we could keep them in our lives but we finally had to make the decision and obedience to God had to come first or we would be walking in sin. Nothing and no one can come before God. So for now we let go. We do our best, through prayer and God’s Word, to help our precious babies understand something that we don’t even understand.  And we pray that one day, while there is still time on this side of eternity, truth will shine through and we can share in His kingdom.

Our hearts may be aching but we know that “The Lord is near to them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:18

My heart aches tonight and I miss those precious souls more than I can express but my God knows better than I do. My God can do all things. My job is to be obedient to Him and share His truth and let Him do the rest.

So for all of you truly born again daughters out there I pray that you are comforted in His words as you miss those you love. And I pray that if you haven’t been able to let go and let God, this encourages you to do so and walk away from the sin of disobedience.

“If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.”

1 Peter 4:14

Rejoice!
