Encouragement

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(Ephesians 6:10)

All around us, this world pulls on those who follow Christ. The world tries to choke the word and make it unfruitful (Mark 4:19), beset us in sin (Heb 12:1), or just make us give up. But we are called to endure (Matt 10:12, 1 Cor 13:7, James 1:12, ect…) through it all that we might be saved. We are called to be ready and instant in giving an answer and preach the Gospel. (1 Peter 3:15 , 2 Tim 4:2)

With this in mind, I was given an opportunity to sow a bit of truth into a Mormon. I was searching on Facebook for some used items needed around the homestead, and a young man from the Mormon heresy wanted to befriend me randomly because I used to work at Intel Corporation in New Mexico. He asked if I liked working there and thought it would be neat to work there himself.

Trying to ensure he was real person, I checked his Facebook page and this is when I learned he was LDS. He had many posts about Christmas and being thankful, but just a couple days ago he posted something that was really interesting. He posted a picture of a Mormon “temple” in California and wrote, “Temples are the literal houses of the Lord! Whats your favorite temple?”

Knowing the scriptures (as we all should), I realized this was a perfect opportunity to sow the living Word of Christ into this God forsaken pagan anti-Christ religion.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

(1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
(2 Corinthians 6:16-18)

These scriptures I quoted in response to his post with a small explanation saying: “The living God of the scripture does not dwell in temples made with man’s hands.”

With this commented on his post, I turned the conversation to the Lord telling him that the Lord took me out of Intel and put me where I am today. I proceeded to tell him that I had commented on his post and asked if he knew that the scriptures contradicted what he said.

Unfortunately for him, he then blocked me on both Messenger and Facebook. I hope that Satan did not take this seed from His heart and that it produces fruit. Either way, if he rejects the truth it is to his own condemnation and his blood will not be on my hands, and if he accepts the truth, accepts the free gift of salvation, and continues in Christ until the end. Then we will have gained a brother both now and in eternity.

Fellow followers of Christ, be encouraged through all of life’s struggles. Be strong in the word, be ready to tell all the Lord brings across your path. Love God, love your neighbor, and continue in the Spirit and in the Truth.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
(John 4:23-24)
