Lies Satan Tells

Satan says…Family….love them in their sin. Coddle them and make them feel good about themselves. How can you win them to Jesus if you call their sin out? That isn’t loving them! They are your family! They are blood! You have to be loyal to them! Don’t hurt their feelings by warning them of what waits for them in eternity!! They can live in sin and still be saved! After all, they said a prayer so now they are always saved! Just pray for them if they seem far from Christ but don’t confront them, don’t hurt their feelings!!

God says….Family….

Matthew 12:48-50
But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

“Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.” 1 Timothy 5:20

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2

“This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;”
Titus 1:13

“These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”
Titus 2:15

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. ” Matthew 10:34-39

Satan says…Follow your heart! Your heart will lead you…it’s beautiful, listen to it! Be yourself! Shine your light!! God just wants you to be happy! Do what makes you happy!! Do what you want!!

God says …

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” Proverbs 28:26

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:8-9

“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.” Matthew 15:18-20

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Matthew 16:24-25

Satan says….not every scripture applies to you today! Those scriptures were just for that time, for specific people.

God says….

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Satan says….you don’t have to be or look any different that the world! You have Jesus in your heart! You said a prayer and your a good enough Christian because you have Jesus in your heart and you don’t do things that are “too bad.”

God says …

“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” Titus 2:14

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10

Satan says….it’s your body, show it off!! Just don’t go too far!! Wear tight clothes, be sexual, show it off girl!! God gave it to you!!! Be proud of it!! Everyone wears this, it’s ok! This is modest for the time! It’s not “too bad!” It’s the style!

God says….

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-2

“But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.” 1 Timothy 4:7-9

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” 1Timothy 2:9-12

All of these lies I once believed!! Until I turned to God’s word, stopped making excuses for it and let it say what it says. The decision to follow Christ has cost me a lot, but thats to be expected as Jesus Himself said….

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:24-26

“And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.” Matthew 13:57

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.” Luke 14:26-30

My heart aches for those who still believe these lies and are unwilling to see the truth in His word! My heart aches for our earthly family, hoping and praying that He will give them eyes to see and ears to hear. And I also look forward to our heavenly family, in which I pray you are a part of! Ladies….don’t believe the lies of the enemy!! Don’t make excuses for God’s word….He commands us to study to show ourselves approved so that we can rightly divide the word of truth. He tells us not to be deceived. Just look to His word and soften your heart to His voice!! Be a Berean and search the scriptures. Not a devotional, “pastor,” self-help book, social media or the world!!

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.” Titus 3:3

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. Acts 17:10-12
