Man made religion tells us that if we love someone than we love them where they are. We don’t tell them when they are in danger of death. We tell them everything is ok and we love them and that God has them. We don’t pass judgement on each other, we just accept sin and move on. We can love them out of their sin. Man made religion tells us that we don’t have to keep God’s commands..…..
God’s word tells us that we exhort one another. We tell each other when one is in danger of hell fire….we encourage each other to lay down sin, repent and follow Him. We love others by warning them of the danger of eternal fire and separation from God! If someone who claims the name of Christ is unwilling to see their sin, repent and follow Him then we separate from them in hopes that they will see the consequences of their sin. God’s Word tells us to turn away from our sin and keep His commands in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
We recently had to make the decision to follow God’s word or keep people in our lives….we battled with this decision for a really long time. We even tried to ignore the pull of HIS word and moved to be closer to them. Add in finding out we are expecting our fourth child and the decision got even harder. But God doesn’t promise us an easy life on this earth. HE promises that HE will never leave us but that there will be trials and this walk with HIM is lonely sometimes. Narrow is the way and many won’t choose HIM.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
Some days I am tempted to say “Nope! I can’t do this, Lord! I need her! I need my family!! I need someone!! I can just love them in their sin! I can do it better than you tell me!!” Some days I am tempted to walk in the flesh and give in to those feelings of sadness, loneliness, doubt and fear. But God tells us to walk by faith not by sight. Not to be ruled by our emotions but by the spirit!
Then He reminds me…
“He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37-38
Today is one of those days…many days are like that….for now I will rest on His unfailing, unchanging, life giving word with hope that one day I can squeeze them and hug them and be united with them, in Him! I will focus on what is in front of me, on my call as a born again daughter of The King, and hope all things.
