In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
-Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
-John 1:1-5
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
-John 1:14
Here we have two parallel accounts of the initial part of creation. This explains the triune nature of God in that there is the the Father, the Word (The Son), and the Spirit. Father God was first mentioned in (In the beginning God) letting us know that God is neither created nor within creation. We then see His Spirit as the second part of the three part God upon the surface of the waters. Then we move over to God the Son also known as the Word. Which was the technical person of the Godhead that was directly credited for creating all things. This once again shows that all three parts of the Godhead are eternal and outside of creation. God is the ONLY ONE who is outside of creation and beyond time itself.
Now understanding the nature of God we can we can move on a bit further into creation. Remember Jesus created all that was created, so that includes the earth itself (dry land), the waters, heaven, angels, the firmament, heaven, sun, moon, and stars, all the plants and animals, and then finally man.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the foul of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
-Genesis 1:24-31
Here is the creation of mankind in which God takes special consideration and separates the creation of man from the rest of creation. He makes men in His image and likeness and then creates women as their help meet as is told in the next chapter. Finally God creates us to be overseers over all creation under heaven. The key here is we are special, we are created, we are NOT evolved and just animals. All of this is important to understand that salvation, the salvation of Jesus Christ is for us and us alone. This disproves anything about any other intelligent life and remember earth is not Earth, it is the ground above the water.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all the work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
-Genesis 2:1-3
This is the establishment of the sabbath rest in the scriptures. It is right here at the beginning of the second chapter of the first book. This establishes that even before death and sacrifice, new and old testament, there was a day dedicated to rest. God worked for 6 days creating everything that was created and then chose to rest and make this day special through sanctification and by blessing it. Keep this in mind as we move through scriptures and get to today. (HINT: This still applies to the faithful of Christ today.)
And he (Jesus) said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
-Mark 2:27-28
