Christ Jesus told us:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(Matthew 6:33 KJV)
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This has been our driving force and our calling of late. We are all called to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. It’s not seek His righteousness, or only seek the kingdom of God. It is both. And if this is done there is a promise, a promise from God that He will meet our needs.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(Matthew 6:31 KJV)
Our food, our drink, our clothing will all be met when we seek after the kingdom of God and His righteousness. With this in mind, we gave up corporate life and the “American Dream” (Nightmare) and went off in pursuit of God with no source of income and no idea where we might end up.
We have surely been blessed in this multiple times over. For instance, we had some struggles with malfunctioning parts on our RV. This caused us to become stranded at particular RV parks who, just so happen to have spots during that time and have given us free nights without asking during one of their peak seasons, Spring Break. We have been protected on the road while towing a 9000lb RV with no incident even though there were a few close calls. We were kept just in front of and just behind major storm fronts and even tornados and severe hail as we crossed the country. This and much more, allowed us to avoid severe difficulties during travel.
When starting our search for property, while looking for land on a list we had compiled, we ran across a realtor name and number on a for sale sign. Called the realtor and no answer. We then turned off the beaten road upon seeing a sign, went down a long winding gravel road to the point we were just looking for a place to turn around, and at the end of the road found a beautiful field, two vehicles, and three people talking. Upon asking if this was the property for sale, the realtor spoke up and said that they were finalizing the deal on this property and that he was the one we had just called! This lead to us getting our property that was never listed for sale and at less than the asking price at a time when properties were getting bid up not coming down.
The unexpected blessings continued in that our realtor has gone above and beyond with us. So far he: setup our address for us, got us in touch with a local company for clearing out a spot for our home, got us access to the property before it was deeded over to us, helped us get a free culvert put in, gave us pallets for our duck house, found the least expensive shipping containers in our area, is giving us free gates, is giving us two 1500 Gallon water containers for our rain water collection, and has been an invaluable source of information around the area. Another blessing with this land was found out at closing, the land was survey at over 16 acres not the 13 and some we thought originally. These have been an invaluable, unrepayable blessings to our family.
To continue what our Lord has surprised us with is this:
Blackberries. Lots of blackberries. We have about 4 or 5 large patches of blackberries on our land. This brings to mind a scripture:
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
(Luke 19:21-22 KJV)
This is one of the parables of Jesus, in which He is talking about His kingdom. In this part of our life we are truly partaking in the literal sense of this in that we have a huge harvest that we did not plant which will in turn provide an income for our family. Remember God declares while reproving Israel:
I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
(Psalms 50:9-12 KJV)
He owns it all and he allows Satan to work his works in the world, but God owns it all and freely gives to all who call upon his name.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
(Romans 8:32 KJV)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(Matthew 6:33 KJV)
