That was for that time period!”

Godly women are told specifically how to behave, dress and speak throughout scripture. This modern, man made religion that we live in today tells us that we don’t have to follow God’s word…the things that society doesn’t like are considered outdated and irrelevant to us today. However, God’s word doesn’t change.

My question is…where does it stop? Where is the line between this scripture and that scripture applying to us? So many claimed “christians” quote scriptures such as

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” — James 1:5 (KJV)

and

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
— James 4:7b (KJV)

then at the same time refuse to submit to God’s will as the first part of James 4:7 says:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” — James 4:7 (KJV)

Also refusing the order as it is laid out in Corinthians and the rest of the Bible.

1 Corinthians chapter 11 tells us very clearly God’s headship order and that women are to cover their heads while men are not to do so. 1 Timothy 2 tells us to dress modestly, without adornment as well as how we are to conduct ourselves. Titus 2 and 1 Peter 3 give us more insight into a godly woman’s characteristics as well as the popular passage of Proverbs 31.

Women quote

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”
— Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)

while ignoring the rest of the chapter saying “it is impossible to live up to those standards!”

Again I ask…where does it end? The entire word of God is for each and every one of us who call Him savior and claim His name!! How can you throw out those parts of scripture that you don’t agree with and still call on His name? Corinthians is specifically addressed to all that call on the name of Jesus ..

“Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:”
— 1 Corinthians 1:2 (KJV)

While James is addressed to the brethren of the twelve tribes…

James 1 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹ James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
² My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

To say that certain scriptures do not apply to us today is to call God a liar and to deny that all scripture is given by Him for our guidelines as His followers.

2 Timothy 3:16-17(KJV)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

To deny His commands while calling Him savior is

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
— 2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV)

Notice we are told to turn away from these people. Ladies, we can not add or take away from God’s word just because we are uncomfortable with what He commands. We are to deny the world and our fleshly lusts daily if we call upon His name. His word does not change and Jesus Himself tells us that if we love Him we will keep His commandments…

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15 (KJV)

His commandments are found in this book He has given us and they bring life…they are not grievous to those who love Him.

“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
— 1 John 5:3 (KJV)

Denying His commandments because society (man made religion) says they are out dated is friendship with the world.
